Why most AI projects stall

AI initiatives rarely fail because the models are wrong. They fail because the data underneath was never ready, and nobody established that before the budget was committed.

The pattern is consistent. An organization buys a platform or engages a vendor. Six months in, the pilot has not produced usable output. Investigation reveals the data was fragmented across systems that do not reconcile, the historical records were inconsistent, or the outcome being predicted was never reliably recorded in the first place.

At that point the organization has spent real money and has nothing to show a board. Worse, internal confidence in AI has been damaged, making the next attempt harder to fund.

The assessment exists to prevent that. It is deliberately positioned before commitment, not after.

What we assess

Data inventory and accessibility

What data exists, where it lives, who owns it, and how readily it can be accessed for analytical use. Organizations are routinely surprised at this stage — valuable data in systems nobody thought to mention, and expected data that turns out never to have been retained.

Quality and completeness

Coverage, consistency, accuracy, and timeliness. We quantify this rather than describing it qualitatively. “The data is fairly good” is not an input to a decision. “Customer records are 94% complete for the last 18 months, dropping to 61% before the CRM migration” is.

Lineage and governance

Where data originates, what transforms it, who has access, and whether that is documented. For regulated industries this determines not just what is possible but what is permissible.

Infrastructure

Whether your current stack can support model training and deployment, or whether foundational work is required first.

Use case viability

The most valuable output. We take the AI use cases your organization is considering and assess each one honestly against what your data can currently support — achievable now, achievable after remediation, or not viable on current data.

What you receive

• A written assessment report covering everything above, with specific findings rather than generic recommendations
• A use case viability matrix ranking your candidate initiatives by feasibility against effort, so investment goes where it can actually succeed
• A prioritized remediation roadmap identifying what needs fixing, in what order, and roughly what each item involves
• An executive summary written for a board or investment committee — the case for proceeding or for pausing, in language appropriate to that audience

How it runs

Days 1–3: Discovery

Structured sessions with your data owners, system administrators, and the business stakeholders who want the AI outcomes. We need both sides — what exists technically, and what the business is actually trying to achieve.

Days 4–8: Technical assessment

Direct examination of your data. Profiling, quality measurement, lineage tracing. This is hands-on work, not a questionnaire exercise.

Days 9–11: Analysis and use case mapping

We map findings against your intended use cases and build the viability matrix.

Days 12–14: Reporting and presentation

Written deliverable, followed by a working session with your team to walk through findings and agree next steps.

Who this is for

Organizations at the point of deciding whether to invest in AI, or organizations that have already started and are not seeing expected results.

It is particularly relevant if your leadership is asking for AI adoption without a clear technical picture of what is feasible, or if you are under external pressure — regulatory, competitive, or from the UAE AI Strategy 2031 — to demonstrate progress.
